Three officers in line to be Chief Secy
If the Chief Minister wants a woman in the post, then either Ms Chitra Ramachandran or Ms Pushpa Subramanyam is likely to get the post.
Hyderabad: Curiosity is running high in IAS circles with regard to the appointment of a successor to Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi retiring on December 31.
It’s possible that Mr Joshi could get an extension. If not, the Chief Minister will choose a new Chief Secretary from among the three senior IAS officers. Most of those in the know believe Mr Joshi is unlikely to get an extension, else the government would have written to the Union department of personnel and training (DoPT), which is under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to obtain permission for his extension of service.
As far as anyone knows, this has not been done Special chief secretaries of energy and revenue, Mr Ajay Misra and Mr Somesh Kumar respectively, and a 1983-batch IAS officer, Mr Binoy Kumar, who is currently on Central deputation, are the front runners for the post.

The names of Mr B.P. Acharya, Mr Suresh Chanda and special chief secretary, environments and forest, Rajeshwar Tiwari, are also being mentioned, but sources said they are unlikely to be considered for the top post.
