Kerala: Schools fare well in ICSE, ISC exams

48 students passed with distinction in ISC.

Thiruvananthapuram: The schools in the state have recorded good results in  the ICSE (class X) examinations and ISC (class XII)  examinations, the  results of which were announced on Friday. Of the 15 students who appeared for the ISC from  L’ecole Chempaka, 12 passed with distinction and three with first class.

B.J.  Arav  topped with 98 percent marks. Of the 67 students  who appeared for the ICSE from the school, 54 passed with distinction, nine with first class and four with second class. Gowri Nair Prathap and Nimisha Nair share the first position with 96.7 percent Loyola School secured 100 percent success in ICSE and  ISC examinations. For the ICSE, of the 48 who appeared,  all the  48 passed with distinction. The top scorer was  Gautham S. Lal.

For the ISC, 48 of the  51 who appeared passed with distinction while three got first class.  Adith Chandra and Vignesh Krishnan shared the top position. For  the ICSE,   St Thomas Residential School presented  215 students out of whom 202 students obtained distinction. Lekshmi S Sunil stood first with 98.3 percent marks and she stands first in the state.

Aswini  A. Kumar stood second with 97.8 percent marks and  Uma Nalini Damodaran with 97.5  marks stood third. The class averages of most of the subjects showed a significant increase with  52 students securing 100 percent  in Computer Science, six students obtaining 100 percent in History and Geography and eight students  in Mathematics.

For  the ISC,   the school presented  113 students out of whom  95  obtained distinction in the science stream. S. Vishak  stood first with 98.5 percent marks  and was ranked first in the state. Lakshmi S Menon stands second with 98.25 marks and was ranked second in the state.

For the ISC,  the school presented 35 students in the Commerce Stream out of whom  12 secured distinction. The class averages of most of the subjects showed a significant increase with seven  students securing 100 percent in Computer Science and two students obtained 100 percent for Physics.

Christ Nagar Higher Secondary School, Kawdiar,  recorded 100 percent pass for both ICSE and ISC examination. Of the 147 who appeared, 142 got distinction and five first class for ICSE. For ISC, of the 90 who appeared,  74 got distinction and 16  first class.

In the ICSE, ISC examinations,  Sarvodaya Vidyalaya also recorded a hundred percent  pass. In the ICSE section  A.S. Vaishnavi, Bivek Binoy Paul, and Shamili G. Nair scored 587 out of 600 (96.3%) and bagged the first position. In ISC section, Abdul Basith S. scored 484 out of 500 (96.8%) became the topper, Divya Moncy with 482 out of 500 (96.6%) and Gayathri Pai  with 480 out of 500 (96%) secured the second and third positions respectively. In ICSE 188 students appeared and 167 got distinction. In the ISC section 73 appeared and 46 got distinction.
