Hyderabad: Businessman files complaint against ICICI Bank

Hyderabad: A businessman having an account at the ICICI Bank's Malakpet branch lodged a complaint with the police that without his knowledge bank staff had revealed his account details to strangers and had supplied them his account statement. Mohammed Sikander alleged that the branch manager was also involved.
Mohammed Sikander, who owns an automobile store, opened a current account in the name of his store in July 2016 at the ICICI Bank’s Malakpet branch. On Friday, one of his cousins Junaid found the bank statement of Sikander’s store in his scooter and informed him. He also told that another cousin Ahmed Hussain, who is also his rival, had been using the scooter for some days and he could have forgotten the statement in the scooter.
Sikander approached the bank and asked how his statement was given out without his nod. “The statement had all transactions till May 3, 2016. When I inquired with the staff, they ignored me. I went to the manager and he also replied rudely. From ICICI customer care we found the statement was issued from a work station used by a woman. I brought it to the notice of the manager but he was rude again,” Sikander said.
On Saturday Sikander filed a complaint at the Chaderghat police station. "We will forward the complaint to the bank. We advised the victim to approach the competent authority," inspector G. Sattaiah said.
