20,000 students apply for MBBS counselling

After scrutinising the applications, the rank list based on the plus-2 cut-off marks for MBBS courses will be released on June 17.

Tamil Nadu was one of the states that contested the Supreme Court order that made Neet mandatory for medical admission.

Chennai: With till a day to go for receiving applications, the selection committee for MBBS and BDS admissions has received more than 20,000.

The applications distribution started on May 26. As the sale of applications closed on Monday, 24,100 applications have been sold this year for MBBS counselling.

“Students should send their filled in applications before Tuesday (June 7). So far we have received 20,829 applications,” selection committee sources said.

After scrutinising the applications, the rank list based on the plus-2 cut-off marks for MBBS courses will be released on June 17. The first phase of counselling will begin on June 20, they added.
