No constructions in the FTL and Buffer Zone of Masab Cheruvu: Telangana HC

 Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Tuesday directed the Ranga Reddy district revenue and irrigation departments to keep vigil and ensure that no new constructions come up in the buffer zone of the Masab Cheruvu in Turkayamjal village of Abdullapurmet mandal.

The court was dealing with a public interest litigation complaining about the inaction of the authorities in removing the illegal and unauthorised encroachments in Survey No. 205 which is part of the buffer zone of Masab Cheruvu.

The petitioner sought a direction to the authorities to protect the lake and to constitute a committee to develop it by marking the boundaries and constructing bunds.

The court issued notices to the HMDA and the Ranga Reddy district revenue and irrigation departments, directing them to file their contentions on the PIL.
