Businesses seek special cell under CM Pinarayi Vijayan to clear projects
Pinarayi tells investor meet state would create hassle-free environment for businesses
KOCHI: The proposal for setting up a special cell directly under the Chief Minister for speedy clearance of mega projects was one of the key suggestions in the investors meet organised by North Malabar Chamber of Commerce here on Saturday. Speaking after inaugurating the meeting Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the government is determined to attract the maximum number of investors by providing them all the facilities and help needed.
The government will provide a hassle-free environment for entrepreneurs to set up their business, he said. "The government will provide the best quality infrastructure facility without making any compromises on the rights of the workers, ecology and land utilisation," he added. The meet organised with the purpose of attracting large-scale investment in the North Malabar region, an area considered as industrially underdeveloped compared with central and south Kerala.
Mr. Pinarayi has stated that big projects such as Kannur international airport and Azheekkal port projects are in the process of becoming a reality. Addressing the meeting UAE-based entrepreneur Dr. Azad Moopen, CMD of DM Aster Health Care Ltd, has called for a high-level committee under the Chief Minister to clear mega projects.
He also called for an efficient system of single window system for attracting more investors to the state. He said the group will invest Rs 150 cr for setting up a new hospital in Kannur. The meet was attended by several entrepreneurs including the Lulu Group Chairman MA Yusuf Ali.
