Eco-friendly Ganesh idol made of bamboo items, baskets, mats attract devotees
ADILABAD: Devotees visiting the ‘Shiva Bala Ganesh Mandali’ pandal are enthused at the sight of an eco-friendly Ganesh idol made of bamboo at Bhukthapur in Adilabad town.
The idol installed by the local youths is unique. Baskets of different sizes and mats and a Winnowing Fan ‘Chata’ made of bamboo were used in the making of the Ganesha. A ‘rat’ was seen placed at the idol and it was also made with small baskets of bamboo.
An organiser of the Shiva Bala Ganesh Mandali, Lokesh, said: “We try to install a unique Ganesh idol every year and this time we made an idol with bamboo items that look different and are eco-friendly. This is attracting many devotees since it stands out among the other idols installed at various places in the town.”
Some youths of the Myadari community, which makes such items for use in day-to-day life, put in place this unique Ganesh idol.
The Ganesh festival has become a ‘Selfie Time’ for many devotees who visit pandals along with their families and friends and share the pictures in groups on social media.
Another attraction is a unique Ganesh idol made with 25kg green peas (batani) and installed at Sai Ganesh Mandalli in Kapuwada in Kagaznagar town in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district.
