Telangana HC takes up Raja Singh\'s wife petition
Court issues notices to state government
HYDERABAD: Dealing with the habeas corpus petition filed by the wife of Goshamahal MLA T. Raja Singh against invoking of the Preventive Detention Act against him, a division bench of the Telangana High Court on Tuesday issued notices to the principal secretary of the general administration department , commissioner of police and others to file their reply within four weeks.
The division bench comprising Justice Shameem Akther and Justice E.V. Venugopal while hearing the petition issued notices to the state authorities.
In the petition, Usha Singh, wife of Raja Singh, stated that her husband`s detention under the PD Act was illegal and done without application of mind. She said that the government authorities had made false allegations against Raja Singh that it was necessary to detain him to maintain public order.
The bench made it clear after filing of the submissions of state it will hear the case and adjourned the matter for four weeks.
