Warangal: The members of the Association of Kakatiya University Teachers (AKUT) alleged that university vice-chancellor Prof. T. Ramesh and Registrar Prof. T. Srinivas Rao were intentionally showing discrimination against the university teachers in allotting them statutory and administrative posts.

Association general secretary Mamidala Estari alleged that the varsity authorities were violating the rules and procedures by allotting administrative posts to junior faculty members, denying eligible faculty members.

Several such incidents took place in the university. For instance, Prof. T. Srinivas, a senior faculty member in Department of Sociology and Social Work, was denied the chairman of the Board of Studies for the past two years though he was highly qualified and experienced, he said.

The same is the case with Dr B. Lalitha Kumari, Dr R. Bharavi Shamra and Dr G. Manjula -- the senior faculty of Botany, Mathematics and Physics departments, who were denied the HoD posts, which were given to their juniors.

He said the discriminatory practice by the university authorities had been causing distress among the eligible senior faculty, who approached the High Court against the injustice meted out to them. The court ordered the varsity authorities to allot administrative posts to seniors and regular faculty members by considering their services.

AKUT demanded the varsity authorities implement the HC orders without delay.
