IIM Kozhikode boss ignites city dreams

KOZHIKODE: Kozhikode is no more an orthodox city it used to be but it will have to wait for a little more time patiently before multinational companies set up shop here, Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode director Kulbhushan Balooni has said. “The social dynamism of Kozhikode has changed in the recent past forcing the city to shed its orthodox outlook,” Mr Balooni told entrepreneurs and aspiring engineering students at the information technology summit held as part of Rising Kerala 2016, the international industry expo, in Kozhikode on Tuesday.

“The city has state-of-art facilities. However, it will have to be patient before multinational companies set up shop here because it has to get fully accustomed to the growing technological advancements.” Kerala State IT Mission executive director Seeran Sambasiva Roa said the state government’s major aim is to provide an eco system where the youth can make maximum use of their potential.

“The recently-approved Kerala technology start-up policy aims at creating a world-class scientific and technology ecosystem that would empower and enable its youth to pursue their dreams within the state,” he said. The event was organised by Rising Kerala in association with CAFIT, NASSCOM, Calicut Management Association and Kerala State Small Industries Association, Kozhikode. The IT summit was also attended by Government Cyber Park CEO R. Ajith Kumar, Rising Kerala convenor V.K.C. Noushad,  Rising Kerala chairman M. Khalid and KSSIA Kozhikode district president P.M.A. Gafoor.
