KSRTC bus turns turtle at Cheelanthimukku

Several persons were injured when they were trapped inside the overturned bus.

The KSRTC bus that turned turtle at Cheelanthimukku near Neendakara in Kollam on Tuesday morning.

Kollam: Over 40 passengers were injured when a KSRTC ordinary bus turned turtle at Cheelanthimukku near Neendakara here on Tuesday morning.   The incident occurred  by 11 a.m.  when the Kollam- bound Pathanamthitta bus took a sharp turn to avoid collision with  an autorickshaw that came in the opposite direction on the National Highway.   The seriously injured were   admitted to the Thiruvananthapuram MCH. They  included  Indiramma (58) and Radhamani (40) of Arinalloor, Manu (29), Rathnakaran (63), Rajan Pillai (52) of Chavara, Sreekumar (22) of Chakkuvalli, Sahadevan (51) of Panmana  and Shamsudeenkunju (45) of Thevallakkara.  As many as 29 others  were admitted to the Kollam district hospital. Several persons were injured when  they were trapped inside the overturned bus. The traffic on the  route was disrupted for  an hour after the accident.
