Hyderabad: Director General of Police (DGP) Ravi Gupta and police commissioners K. Sreenivasa Reddy (Hyderabad), Avinash Mohanty (Cyberabad) and G. Sudheer Babu (Rachakonda) have asked their staff to not come to them with recommendation letters seeking transfers.

It was stated that an inspector had approached a police commissioner seeking transfer to the traffic wing but was turned down.

“Transparency in the system will help prevent corruption and help the officers concentrate on work,” a senior official said. Transfers would be based on performance in the monthly crime review.
