Khammam: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu said on Sunday that the TPCC has made an appeal to Congress leader Sonia Gandhi to contest the parliament polls from Telangana.

“Whoever has respect for Telangana will support Sonia Gandhi and elect her unanimously without fielding candidates in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections,” he said while speaking to the media in Snanala Laxmipuram in Wyra mandal.

He recalled that it was Sonia Gandhi who took the lead in carving out a separate Telangana state, “by respecting the aspirations of the people of this region.”

Bhatti Vikramarka said that the state government would soon release a report on the irregularities in the Mission Bhagiratha Scheme. “The state government is preparing an action plan for inclusive growth by making an in-depth study on the welfare sector.”

“We have preferred to order a judicial inquiry by a sitting judge instead of CBI inquiry, since agencies like CBI and other investigation agencies work under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah,” he said.

Bhatti Vikramarka alleged that the BJP and the BRS have colluded and that’s why the Modi government did not take any action against top BRS leaders though the Prime Minister and Amit Shah made allegations that the BRS leaders used Kaleswharam project as their ATM.”

He said BJP leaders are making irresponsible statements on the issue of conducting an inquiry on Kaleshwaram.

AS many as 6.5 crore women so far have availed the free travel facility in the RTC buses under Mahalakshmi scheme, as part of the six guarantees the Congress had given to the people before the assembly polls, he said.

The deputy CM said the state government is trying to set up skill development universities in districts to meet the needs of the people and make students compete with others across the globe in the era of globalization.

Along with five Nandini, Bhatti Vikramarka offered prayers and paid rich tributes to his parents Akhilandadasu and Manikyamma and elder brother Mallu Anantharamulu in the agriculture fields in his native village Snanala Lakshmipuram. MLA Ramdas Naik and DCC president Durga Prasad were present.
