Kisan morcha leaders detained for laying siege to Assembly complex
HYDERABAD: BJP Kisan morcha leaders tried to besiege the Legislative Assembly complex here on Wednesday in protest against Dharani portal and delay in implementation of crop loan waiver. They were taken into custody and shifted to police stations.
The protestors raised slogans against the BRS government and demanded that the problems being faced by the farming community be resolved immediately.
Speaking during the protest, the morcha’s state president Kondapally Sridhar Reddy alleged that BRS leaders were trying to encroach upon lands of farmers, taking advantage of the lapses in Dharani portal. Reddy said that many farmers had ended their lives when thousands of acres of land were put in the portal’s prohibited list.
The Dharani portal was being used as an instrument by the Kalvakuntla family to raise crores for themselves, he alleged. The Kisan morcha will continue the agitation till the lapses of Dharani portal are rectified, he said.
Morcha leaders Goli Madhusudan Reddy, Jaganmohan Reddy, Anjaiah Yadav and Kiran Goud participated in the protest.
