Tribal man killed for black magic in Rajahmundry

A group of villagers tried to attack three men from the same village presuming that they were practicing black magic.

Rajahmundry: A tribal man was killed by the villagers by attacking him with sticks and stones presuming that he was practicing black magic at Veluthurivarigudem village of Buttaigudem mandal in West Godavari in the late hours on Wednesday.

According to Buttaigudem police, one Dharmula Ramudu, 54, hailing from Veluthurivarigudem village, was killed. A group of villagers tried to attack three men from the same village presuming that they were practicing black magic.
Recently, Kottam Venkateswara Rao's son Srinivas, 28, died due to so-me health problem while taking medical treatment at a private hospital in Rajahmundry.

The villagers thought that Srinivas died as three men were practicing black magic against him. Accordingly, armed with sticks and stones, they tried to attack them. However, one was killed while two other escaped.Based on a complaint from the local village revenue officer Vinayak, police booked a case against 10 villagers under sections 302, 307, 147, 149 and 201 of IPC and started investigation.
