Kerala: Victim of cop atrocity critical
The policeman was suspended following the incident.
KOLLAM: The condition of Santhosh Felix, 34, the motorcyclist who was attacked by a policeman using a wireless set during a vehicle check on Friday evening, continues to be critical at the intensive care unit of a private hospital here. He is suffering from bleeding in his brain and a fracture on his skull.
According to the victim’s brother Jose Felix, Santhosh will require a surgery to repair his broken skull, which will be decided after diagnosis. He also alleged that although the guilty policemen was suspended, no case had been registered against him yet. A complaint was filed with the Kollam east police by the relatives of Santhosh regarding the incident.
The policeman, Mash Das of Janayugam Nagar at Kadappakkada, had attacked Santhosh Felix of ‘Hercules’ of Anjukallumoodu during a routine vehicle check at Ashramam link road here on Friday evening. The policeman was suspended following the incident. Santhosh Felix was going to a hospital at Ashramam, along with his two-year-old child when the incident took place. Tension prevailed at Ashram as the local residents staged a sit-in protest blocking the road in protest against the police action.
