VIJAYAWADA: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday trapped two employees of the Andhra Pradesh Central Power Distribution Company Limited (APCPDCL) while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 at Ibrahimpatnam in NTR district.

The two officials, assistant engineer B. Srinivasa Rao and junior assistant I. Gopinath, were caught red-handed by ACB sleuths while accepting the bribe from G. Praveen Kumar, a resident of Vijayawada.

Praveen Kumar had approached Srinivasa Rao for three-phase power connections to his house. However, Srinivasa Rao demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 to do so. Praveen Kumar then lodged a complaint with the ACB.

Based on the complaint, the ACB officials laid a trap and caught Srinivasa Rao and Gopinath red-handed while accepting the bribe. They were subsequently taken into custody.
