Chennai: 4TiGO, a platform that aims at defragmenting the unorganised road transport sector, is expanding its hold in Tamil Nadu to over 50 transportation hubs.

4TiGO’s cloud-based technology platform and complementary business services, will bring various stakeholders of the logistics industry including fleet owners, transport companies and agencies together on a common platform and enable them to exchange information, transact and manage their entire business.

Speaking to DC, Co-founder Anjani Mandal, said that there are many players in the same segment who try to work as a platform between consignees and consignors but most of them fail as the most crucial link is the driver of a truck.

“Out tie-up with Indian Oil Corporation and Federal Bank is to provide benefits to the drivers. Our monitoring of the entire transaction on our network and GPS powered devices that would be carried by the drivers, will enable a number of things including consignment delivery on time and reduction in costs by 25%.”

Speaking about the issues in the transport sector, which contributes to 6 percent of the GDP, he said that about 80% of the truck owners have less than 5 trucks in their fleet.

“Also, the cost of transportation is twice as much. For about 18 out of 30 days, trucks are without any work,” he said. Truck drivers will be able to use food, parking, health and resting services at about 850 outlets of IOCL all across the country.
