Cancel postings of VIP kin, says Ramesh Chennithala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala on Friday asked the LDF Government to scrap the appointments of  the children and relatives of CPM leaders including ministers. In a statement, Chennithala hit out at Pinarayi Vijayan saying that while “avtars” were having a good time the chief minister had been reduced to a mere spectator. The government’s decision to appoint kith and kin of CPM leaders and ministers was pure nepotism and violation of the oath of office and secrecy.

The opposition leader alleged that relatives of CPM leaders including Ministers had been appointed as heads of PSUs throwing all qualification norms to winds. The chief minister’s reply that he was not aware of these appointments was strange. Is the CM implying that he has no idea about what is going on in the government,” he asked.

Chennithala said none had forgotten the episode during V S Achuthanandan government period when a minister’s daughter in law was appointed cook. He said the leaders and ministers  who keep  saying that individuals are not important than the party should explain the revolutionary practice under which daughters, sons and relatives  are being given plum positions .
