East Bengaluru plunges into darkness
Two transmission lines supplying power to eastern parts of Bangalore from 400 KV Hoodi station tripped affecting the power supply.
Bengaluru: Several areas in eastern parts of the city plunged into darkness for almost half an hour as two transmission lines tripped on Friday evening.
Power cuts were reported from Koramangala, Indiranagar, Cox Town, Frazer Town, Ulsoor, Old Madras Road, HAL and Trinity Circle. As the streetlights too went off, commuters had a tough time.
“We were not informed about the power cut. If the authorities had, we would have prepared ourselves for the power cut,” said Mr Arun Kumar M., a resident of Koramangala 4th Block.
“Two transmission lines supplying power to eastern parts of Bangalore from 400 KV Hoodi station tripped affecting the power supply. Power was cut around 7.30 pm, but we resumed it within half-an-hour,” a Bescom official said.
