Thiruvananthauram: Marathon against drug abuse concludes

Thiruvananthapuram: The 400-km relay marathon, organised by Salvation Army, to spread awareness about drug abuse concluded here on Saturday. The marathon began from Palakkad and ended at Kowdiar. The marathon was led by the Salvation Army Youth secretary Ajesh Kumar. Colonel Nihal Hettarachchige, state head of Salvation Army, inaugurated the concluding ceremony.
The relay marathon was given a reception by officials, activists and believers of the Salvation Army at the Museum Junction. They were later taken to the Central Church of the Salvation Army at Kowdiar in a procession. In Palakkad, the marathon was flagged by athelete P.U. Chitra. Runners distributed messages and pamphlets to create awareness on drug abuse along the marathon route.
