Tributes Paid to Late Chief Secretary S.R. Sankaran on His Death Anniversary

Vijayawada: Officials of AP recalled the services of late retired chief secretary S.R. Sankaran on his death anniversary on Saturday.

On the occasion, a statue of Sankaran was unveiled on the premises of the collectorate in Bapatla by district collector P. Ranjit Basha and founder director General of AP Human Resource Development Institute D. Chakrapani.

The statue has been installed under the aegis of Forum for Better Bapatla. Speaking on the occasion, forum secretary P.C. Sai Babu said late S.R. Sankaran is widely known as an ideal people’s IAS officer. He lived the life of a common man, who devoted his life for the welfare of scheduled castes and scheduled tribes.

In Vijayawada, municipal commissioner Swapnil Dinkar Pundkar and other officials have recalled Sankaran’s services at a function organised at the Ambedkar Bhavan near Lenin Centre.

Swapnil said the late IAS officer was known for his exceptional dedication to public service and tireless efforts to uplift the marginalised sections of the society.

“Remembering Sankaran’s life and work serves as a reminder of the ideals we should strive for in our collective pursuit of an equitable society,” the Vijayawada municipal commissioner underlined.
