2 brothers die, 1 injured after car rams lorry in Namakkal
On receiving information, Elachipalayam police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies for post mortem to the Tiruchengodu government hospital.
Namakkal: Two brothers from Chennai died and a youth suffered grievous injuries after the car they were travelling in, collided head on with a lorry at Elachipalayam in Namakkal district on Monday early morning. Police said that J Prasanth, 24, who runs a construction firm, his brother Pradeep, 21, pursuing third year engineering in Chennai and their relative Nandakumar, 21 from Tirukovilur, who is also studying third year engineering in a college in Chennai, went to the Guruvayur temple in neighbouring Kerala in a car.
While nearing Kumaramangalam on their return journey, their car driven by Prasanth rammed head on into a lorry laden with rice bags and heading in the opposite direction to Kerala from Andhra Pradesh.
On impact, the brothers Prasanth and Pradeep were crushed to death on the spot, while Nandakumar suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the Tiruchengodu government hospital for treatment.
On receiving information, Elachipalayam police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies for post mortem to the Tiruchengodu government hospital. They arrested lorry driver Kuppusamy from Rasipuram. Further investigations are on.
