Thiruvananthapuram school bus falls into ditch but students safe
The accident happened a month after the sixth anniversary of Karikkakom tragedy, in which a school van toppled killing six children, was observed.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A great tragedy was averted when students travelling a school bus escaped when the bus toppled into a ditch at Venjarammoodu in Thiruvananthapuram.
According to officials at the Venjaramoodu station, two school students sustained minor injuries and were taken to the Government Medical College Hospital, Thiurvananthapuram. “Later, we learnt that they were both discharged. No case has been charged against the school,” said an official.
The bus belonged to Model Public School, Anakuzhy. In order to give way to a two-wheeler, the bus turned and ended up falling into the ditch, which was dug as part of an ongoing road work project. The school authorities could not be reached.
