Free RTC travel for women, Rs10 lakh Aarogyasri limit from December 9

Hyderabad: The newly formed Congress government has decided to implement two of its six guarantees on Saturday commemorating the birthday of former Congress president Sonia Gandhi on December 9. They include free bus rides for women, which will be launched by Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari in the presence of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.
Women can travel by showing their Aadhaar card.

The second guarantee that received the Cabinet nod on Thursday is the increase in Aarogyasri limit to Rs 10 lakh.

These decisions were taken in the first Cabinet meeting chaired by Revanth Reddy in the Secretariat soon after taking oath as Chief Minister.
Briefing the media after the Cabinet meeting, minister D. Sridhar Babu said, “We will issue a white paper on the use of financial resources from 2014 to December 7, 2023. We will implement the Six Guarantees as promised by Sonia Gandhi after extensive discussions. The Chief Minister will discuss with various departments on Saturday, on which day the MLAs-elect will take oath."

Elaborating further, Sridhar Babu said, “We will give 24-hour power to farmers and industries and orders have been given to this effect. A review of the power department has been scheduled for Friday. We will also ensure 200 units of free power for domestic users. Farmers, who have suffered damage owing to natural calamities, will receive help.”

As regards the pending loan waiver, the minister averred that it will be done along with the '2 lakh loan waiver after having a look at the resources.

“We sought information on the resources from the officials,” he said and added that the fate of Housing Board employees, who have been removed from service, will be decided in the future.

On constituting a full Cabinet, he said, “This will be done by the Chief Minister in consultation with the leadership. The Cabinet also discussed Group-1 and Group-2 exams slated to be held next month.”
