A couple from Hyderabad, Ravi Kumar and Meenakshi, spoke of an unpleasant experience inside the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala during the Srivani Trust-linked VIP darshan on Wednesday, Dec 6.

The incident gained traction after a video clip of the couple recounting their ordeal went viral on social media platforms on Thursday.

In the video recorded outside the hill temple, the couple accused an unidentified TTD staffer of behaving rudely within the sanctum sanctorum.

Meenakshi said the TTD employee, lacking any visible identification, aggressively pushed her, causing her to nearly fall. Attempts to seek an explanation resulted in further dismissive actions by the staff member, she complained.

Expressing their anguish, Ravi Kumar and Meenakshi stated, "We've been visiting the Tirumala temple for over three decades. Never ever in the past did we encounter such rude behavior from the TTD staff.”

“Devotees make a substantial donation of  Rs. 10,000 with the expectation of a peaceful darshan of Lord Venkateswara. Is this the way to treat Srivani Trust donor devotees?"

Despite their grievances, a subsequent video released by the couple acknowledged the TTD’s commendable services to visiting devotees. However, the encounter with the TTD staffer was unfortunate, they said, and questioned the TTD’s treatment meted out to donor devotees.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams is yet to officially respond to the allegations made by the Hyderabad couple. The incident sparked discussions on social media about the conduct of temple staff during VIP darshan slots.
