Hyderabad to Hosts Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Fest
Hyderabad: Sangitanjaly Foundation, in collaboration with the department of language and culture is all set to present the 6th season of the Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan National Festival of Music at Dance at Ravindra Bharathi here on December 9 and 10. The festival pays homage to the legendary Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, whose spend his last days in the city.
Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan’s influence on Indian classical music, particularly the Patiala Gharana, is revered, and the festival aims to perpetuate his legacy. The event, dedicated to the memory of the maestro, also serves a noble cause, supporting children with autism at Autism Ashram.
With a line-up featuring eminent artists like Pt Aranyakumar, Pt Ken Zuckerman, Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri, a Padma Shri awardee, Bithika Mistry, and Pt Ajoy Chakrabarty, a Padma Bhushan awardee, the festival promises enchanting performances. The inaugural day will witness an inaugural concert Pt Ken Zuckerman, winner of the Sangitanjaly Ratna Lifetime Achievement Award 2023.
