CM extends best wishes to women on International Women’s Day
TIRUPATI: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy took to Twitter on Wednesday and extended his best wishes to women on the occasion of International Women’s Day. ”The state government will continue to strive for women empowerment,” he has said.
In his tweet, the Chief Minister attached an audio visual of a woman volunteer from Chittoor district and hailed her as an inspiration to the society.
“Life of Vanitha, who heroically faced numerous challenges and battled alone for her children, has set an example to society. I wish Vanitha and all the people of the state a happy International Women's Day,” the CM tweeted.
Vanitha, the village volunteer from Kommavaripalli, GD Nellore mandal, in her video, thanked the Chief Minister for giving her a pride of place in the society. “After getting married, I gave birth to two girls. My husband and family used to quarrel with me over this, which forced me to leave my in-law’s house. I then returned to my parent’s house along with my two daughters. A few days later, I lost my father and the burden of the family fell on me. At this difficult time, CM Jagan gave me a volunteer job and he also supported my family with Asara, Amma Vodi and Zero interest schemes,” Vanitha said.
The woman volunteer also claimed that the money her family received through the welfare schemes has helped her to buy a pair of cows and start selling their milk. She said her two daughters were studying English medium at the GD government school and thanked the Chief Minister for shedding light in her life when she was in a state of confusion and caught in deep troubles.
