Pranahitha Pushkaralu from April 13, no sign of facilities for devotees
Officials are yet to put in place pushkar ghats, changing rooms, drinking water and other basic facilities
ADILABAD: Although Pranahitha Pushkaralu is slated to be held from April 13 to 24 in three districts, officials are yet to put in place pushkar ghats, changing rooms, drinking water and other basic facilities. Devotees come in thousands to take a holy dip during Pranahitha Pushkaralu in the erstwhile Adilabad district. Incidentally, this is the first time the pushkaralu is being held in Telangana State.
River Pranahitha enters Telangana at Thummidihatti in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district and flows through Arjunigutta in Kotapalli mandal of Mancherial district. Pranahitha, subsequently, joins river Godavari at Kaleshwaram in Bhupalpally district.
Devotees also come from Maharashtra for the holy dip at Thummidihatti and Arjunigutta in the erstwhile Adilabad district and those from Chhattisgarh visit Kaleshwaram.
It may be recalled that the then Congress government had conducted Pranahitha Pushkaralu in Telangana region on a grand scale in 2010 and declared the event as a state festival.
Krishnamohan Goud of Kagaznagar town appealed to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to allocate funds for the pushakaralu and create facilities at the Thummidihatti and Arjunigutta.
