Hyderabad: The 4,000-square feet Nizam Club parking lot that is under construction has been witnessing water stagnation and seepages.

Following a complaint from a club member to the GHMC, Circle 8 town planning officers inspected the structure and found several leakages through V joints. The officers called in JNTU experts to check the material used and the stability of the structure.

A complaint was filed with the GHMC central zone by Nizam Club life member Ramesh Kumar Dhir (membership No. 2128) on seepages and deviation from the plan.

The building permission of parking lot and health club complex of the club was granted by the GHMC head office in 2013, for three cellars and three floors.
The complaint was forwarded to the circle 8 town planning and engineering wing, the enforcing body.

According to GHMC officers, they found during inspections that the construction agency had used precast slabs instead of RCC slabs, and the seepages was through the V joints when the flooring was being done.

Central zonal assistant city planner Vasant Rao said, “The report suggested that JNTU experts should examine the building for the material used and the structural stability. The report has been forwarded to the head office. Following approval, JNTU experts will be asked to examine it.”

GHMC chief city planner Devender Reddy in a reply to the complaint said the matter would be forwarded to the JNTU. Action if necessary would be taken after receiving the report.

Mr Dhir said, “the parking lot is located between the entry and exit gates, and the 25,000-square-foot health complex is beside the swimming pool. It is a  precast complex and the construction was done by Pecca agency. Rs 8 crore was allocated for the construction. It is over two years now, and water is seeping in, and there is  water stagnation. There are deviations too. They need to be rectified.”

Asked about the complaint and follow-up action, club secretary Naresh Solanki said, “Yes we had officers from the GHMC inspecting the site, The club will wait for the report from JNTU.”
