KASARGOD: Close on the heels of the disappearance of 17 youths  from Kasargod, one more person was reported missing on Monday.   He was identified as Abdulla Haris,  20,  son of  Mohammad of Adhur in the district. Mohammed said Haris had  left  home for Kochi a year ago and was missing after he came home in March.

“Haris doesn’t possess a passport and even a smart phone. The only suspicious  link is that he had joined  a course in Thrikaripur, but discontinued it after a few days,” said Adhur SHO, A. Santhosh Kumar.  The youth told his parents that he was employed in a mobile shop in Kochi. There was no communication from him  since March.

Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team probing the missing of 17 persons,  who are suspected to have joined the IS,  is expecting vital clues from the forensic experts after decoding the communication between Yasmin Ahamad, 29, and Abdul Rashid Abdulla. Yasmin, who was arrested from the New Delhi airport,  told the SIT that she wanted to go to Kabul to be with Rashid.

“We are yet to get any vital information from her other than her bonding with Rashid,” said a SIT member.  Yasmin was brought to Thrikaripur for evidence gathering on Sunday.  The SIT says that Rashid is the mastermind of the team and that he had taken pro- IS classes in Thrikaripur under the guise of Islamic teaching.
