Hyderabad: Man pays for installing noisy silencer on bike
Police intercepted the two-wheeler (MH49 W 4141) which was making a loud noise on the road.
Hyderabad: Jubilee Hills police booked a case against the owner of an expensive motorcycle for modifying the silencer and fitting an improper number plate. The cops seized the vehicle on Thursday evening.
Police intercepted the two-wheeler (MH49 W 4141) which was making a loud noise on the road. Jubilee Hills traffic inspector K. Muttu said, “The rider of the vehicle, K. Narasimha, 23, brought the vehicle from his friend Syed Ajaz Hussain, 26, a civil engineer from Tolich-owki recently.”
The inspector said Hussain had brought the vehicle from the original owner who had moved to Australia. The registration was not transferred to Hussain’s name.
“We are verifying the details of the owner,” Mr Muttu said.
The inspector added after the two-wheeler was brought, Hussain had modified the silencer so that the bike produced a louder sound. He also installed a multi-tone horn which is against the Motor Vehicle Act.
The police booked a case against the two wheeler for improper number plate and alteration of silencer which are punishable violations under Section 80 and 190(2) of the Motor Vehicle Act.
Elsewhere, the Baha-durpura traffic police booked 15 cases and cleared footpath encroa-chments and penalised drivers who had wrongly parked their vehicles.
Bahadurpura inspector V. Chandra Kumar said, “We have booked scrap shops, those selling building materials for encroachment. We also booked motorists who had booked on the no-parking stretch from from Bahadurpura junction to Tadbund junction.
