We’ve heard stories of doctors giving critical treatment and saving the lives of co-passengers falling seriously ill mid-air. But, this may be for the first time, an entrepreneur with no prior experience in giving Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) could save the life of a co-passenger who collapsed onboard a Goa – Hyderabad flight.

Entrepreneur and founder of The Global Luxury Group Karan Bhangay shared his experience of how he could respond to a critical situation and could save the life of Babu Reddy, a middle-aged man, on his Facebook page.

“In the middle of the flight, Babu Reddy garu suddenly lost consciousness. Amid the ensuing panic, it became evident that his condition was deteriorating. He became cold and stiff while remaining unconscious. Without hesitation, I, being the nearest passenger, unbuttoned his shirt, gently splashed water on his face, and promptly initiated standard CPR by performing chest compressions. As apprehension gripped the passengers and crew, a surprising turn of events occurred—Babu Reddy garu started responding positively to the CPR. Just when it seemed all hope was lost, he showed signs of life. His response was heart-warming and filled with relief,” Karan Bhangay said.

An excited young entrepreneur says the amount of shock, fear, and eventual joy from the incident was beyond words.

“Undoubtedly, this day will forever stand out as one of the most unforgettable in my life. Babu Reddy garu and I, once strangers, now share a unique bond forged by this extraordinary experience,” he says.

Concluding the note, Karan Bhangay stressed the importance of learning the basic life-saving skill of CPR.
