CPM men held for RSS worker attack

Kannur: The  Kuthuparamba police took three CPM workers into custody in connection with the  attack on a BJP worker at Pathiriyadu on Wednesday night.  Mambaram Pathiriyadu Navajith, 22,  was hacked around 9.15 p.m. near Pathiriyadu MOP road by a gang of alleged CPM workers.  Navajith, who was seriously injured,  was admitted to Thalassery Indira Gandhi Co-Operative Hospital and later shifted to Kozhikode for further treatment. 

He was taken back to Thalassery on Thursday and is in a stable condition. Kuthuparamba Circle Inspector K.P. Suresh Babu said that the police had  tightened the  security in the area.  The police found three steel bombs at  Muzhakkunnu on Thursday where an RSS worker was killed last week. An excise department search at Pallikkunnu in Kannur also found two crude bombs on Wednesday evening.
