Chennai hospital gets recognised for fifth time
During her address, Nirmala Sitharaman applauded all those who received various awards for their work during difficult times.
Chennai: MIOT International, for the fifth time (since 2005), was recognised by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) for being the best service provider in the southern region.
The award, given to the hospital, after scrutinising and considering various parameters, including export turnover, presence in emerging markets, product diversification and the like, was given by Nirmala Sithraman, minister of state for commerce and industry, who was the chief guest on the occasion of FIEO’s Southern Region Export Excellence Awards and Golden Jubilee celebrations.
On the occasion, Dr A. Sakthivel, regional chairman, FIEO, said, “During the year 2014-15, the state contributed US$ 30.26 billion with a share of 13 per cent in national exports, thereby showing dominant share in the Southern region and becoming the third largest exporting state after Gujarat and Maharashtra.”
“The southern region has contributed 23 per cent of India’s total exports and it is the second largest exporting region after the Western region,” he added.
During her address, Nirmala Sitharaman applauded all those who received various awards for their work during difficult times. She urged the industries to make use of the Centre that is more than willing to listen to them and provide them with any kind of assistance.
