Provocative slogans: Case against BJP leader V Muraleedharan

KANNUR: Kuthuparamba police on Sunday registered a case against BJP leader V. Muraleedharan and nearly 50 BJP-RSS workers for raising provocative and threatening slogans against CPM district secretary P. Jayarajan during the Janaraksha Yatra on Friday.  Though the workers made the slogans, Mr Muraleedharan had live-streamed the event on Facebook as they marched from Panoor to Kuthuparamba with slogans making fun of his handicap and threatening. 

Rashid Raheem, a Thalassery native, submitted the complaint to Thalassery DySP Prince Abraham who forwarded it to Kuthuparamba police.  They registered a case under IPC 153 (Promoting enmity between different groups), 506 (criminal intimidation) and KP Act 120 O (spreading hatred through an electronic medium).
