Hyderabad: A Nalgonda resident, Gautam Krishna, who was a beneficiary of the government’s Dalit Bandhu scheme, used the funds to set up a production company and released the first poster of his upcoming film ‘The Cop’ on Sunday.

Nalgonda collector A.V. Karnan, releasing the poster, organised the Dalit Bandhu grant proceedings to 1,100 beneficiaries and organised an awareness camp, where Gautham Krishna shared his experiences.

Krishna, of Betigall village in Veena Vanka mandal of Huzurabad constituency in Karimnagar district, said he first received the Dalit Bandhu when Karnan was the Karimnagar collector. He started a production company, Amma Production, and is using the funds received under Dalit Bandhu to pursue his passion. ‘The Cop’ stars Suman in a lead role, he revealed.

Karnan praised Krishna and said that it was an example for Dalits to grow economically by utilising the Dalit Bandhu scheme. “I hope that this movie will play at a good level,” he said.
