Forest Department Pays Rs 5 Lakh Ex Gratia to Family of Elephant Attack Victim

Hyderabad: A day after animal keeper Mohd. Shahbaz was killed by an elephant, the forest department paid the victim’s family an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh and assured that a family member would get a government job.

Forest officials paid tribute to Shahbaz and handed over the cheque to his family. Present were Bahadurpura MLA Moazam Khan, principal chief conservator of forests (PCCF) R.M. Dobriyal (head of forest Forces), PCCF Lokesh Jaiswal (wildlife), chief warden V.S.N.V. Prasad and zoo curator Sunil S. Hiremath tributes to Shahbaz.
