Leopard Spotted in Srisailam Temple Premises
Kurnool: A leopard was spotted within the premises of the Srisailam temple on Sunday night, startling devotees who had come to offer their prayers.
The leopard was seen perched on a verandah near Paladhara and Panchadhara, and some of the devotees managed to capture the incident on their mobile phones.
The presence of the leopard created anxiety among both the locals and visiting devotees. The area is close to the temple within the reach of 3-4 km.
In response to such encounters becoming somewhat regular in the Srisailam area, the temple authorities have been planning to construct a protective wall between the temple and the forest zone to prevent the entry of wild animals.
On Sunday night, the leopard eventually fled into the nearby forest area due to the noise created by the devotees. The temple town has been bustling with devotees, especially over the weekend, on both Saturday and Sunday.
