Malappuram: Murder accused's car, bike set ablaze

MALAPPURAM: A car and scooter belonging to the driving school of K. Jayaprakash, an accused in the Faisal murder case in Kodinhi, were set ablaze by unidentified miscreants in the wee hours of Thursday in Chettippadi near Parappanangadi in the district. The vehicles parked inside a shed near the institute were destroyed. The preliminary probe by the police has suggested that the incident was a deliberate attempt, said K.J. Jinesh, sub-inspector of Parappanangadi. District police chief Debesh Kumar Behera has also reached Parappanangadi to assess the situation.

Besides the two vehicles, the miscreants have also tried to set ablaze an auto and another bike which were partially damaged in the fire. Jayaprakash, a Vishwa Hindu Parishad functionary who had retired from military services, was arrested on the charges of conspiracy to kill Faisal. His aide and instructor of the driving institute Thayyil Lijesh was also arrested in connection with the case last month.
