Flower show at Ooty hills from May 18
The annual rose show will be held on May 12 and May 13 at the Government Rose Garden at Ooty.
OOTY: The three-day annual flower show at the Government Botanical Garden(GBG), a stellar attraction of the summer tourist season here, is slated to be held between May 18 and 20 this summer.
Announcing this after chairing a meeting on the summer related shows to be organised by the Horticulture department along with the district administration here on Friday, Dr N. Subbaiyan, director of Horticulture and Plantation Crops, said that the month of May, the prime summer tourist season in the Nilgiris, will as usual witness the horticulture extravaganza with host of shows like fruit show, vegetable show, spices show, rose show and the flower show scheduled during the weekends in May. The schedule is structured in a way to attract and entertain the tourists, besides educating them on horticulture wealth of Nilgiris. Apart from the annual flower show, 122th edition this summer at the GBG, the two-day annual vegetable show will be held at Nehru Park in Kotagiri on May 5 and May 6. The three -day spices show will be held at Gudalur between May 11 and May 13, 2018.
