Chhattisgarh IAS officer puts up his leg on patient's bed, photo goes viral

Raipur: Jagdish Sonkar, the doctor-turned IAS officer from Chhattisgarh tendered an apology on Facebook after his photo - standing with a foot resting on the steel rail of a hospital bed - went viral.

Sonkar faced social media outrage, including demands for his suspension. However, some members from the IAS association came forward to support Sonkar, including Balrampur Collector Alex Menon.

According to reports, following the incident, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh instructed the General Administration Department (GAD) to train new officers in social behaviour before sending them to field postings.
