Kollam tragedy: Distribution of compensation begins

Kollam: The district administration has started distributing compensation to the victims with district collector A. Shainamol IAS handing over documents of deposits of Rs 4 lakh each to siblings Krishna and Kishore who lost both their parents in the accident at Paravur.

The district administration had formed special squads to identify the beneficiaries. “We have verified the eligibility norms and relatives of 70 people who died in the accident from the district will be given compensation,” Ms. Shainamol said.
