7 from Kerala die in mishap near Palani

Kottayam: Seven people from Koruthodu near Mundakayam in the district died in an accident at Ayakudy near Palani in the Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu midnight Tuesday. Their minivan was colliding with a truck, killing.

P.R. Sasi, 62, his wife Vijayamma, 60, neighbour Suresh, 53, his wife Rekha, 51, Manu Mon, 22, Abhijith, 14, and Sajini Babu, 51. While Mr Sasi, Mr Suresh, Mr Mon and Ms Rekha were killed on the spot, Mr Abhijith and Ms Vijayamma died on the way to the hospital.

Ms Babu succumbed to her injuries at the Rajaji Hospital in Madurai, where Adithyan, 12, the grandson of Mr Sasi, is undergoing treatment. The bodies of the deceased will be brought here by Thursday night. They were on a pilgrimage to Palani Murugan temple.
