Government staff HRA hiked in AP's new districts
VIJAYAWADA: The state government on Wednesday issued orders increasing the House Rent Allowance (HRA) of its employees working in the headquarters of the new AP districts.
The government decided to increase the HRA from 12 per cent to 16 per cent. This would be applicable to the employees in Parvathipuram, Paderu, Amalapuram, Bapatla, Rajahmundry, Bhimavaram, Narasaraopeta, Puttaparthi and Rayachoti district headquarters.
On advice from Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, special chief secretary (finance) Shamshersingh Rawat issued GO MS:69 to this effect. The orders stated that the new districts and revenue divisions do not fulfill the population parameters stipulated for sanction of HRA @ 16 per cent and hence the HRA was given @ 12 per cent in the pay revision commission 2022 recommendations. The employees in these district headquarters have requested for an increase of HRA to 16 per cent.
The government, after a careful examination of the matter, ordered an enhancement of HRA for the new district headquarters. The order is applicable with prospective effect from June 1.
