MLA C Divakaran wants flex boards to flaunt funds
C. Divakaran seeks organisations' help in highlighting Rs 43 lakh fund for traffic signals.
Thiruvanathapuram: Despite the LDF government banning flex boards and banners, its Nedumangad MLA ,C. Divakaran, has written a letter seeking the help of various organizations to put up flex boards in favour of the LDF Government. In the signed letter which has been revealed, Divakaran has stated that in order to meet the traffic problems in Nedumangad, the Left Government has sanctioned Rs 43 lakh to install a traffic signal from the road safety fund. In the letter, Divakaran has informed that due to the rise in accidents in Nedumangad, a traffic signal would be the solution. He has also written that Nedumangad, Pazhakutty, Pothencode and Vembayam routes will have traffic signals which have been approved by the LDF Government.
“The inauguration of the traffic signal will be held on July 5 at a total cost of '43 lakh from the Road Safety Fund. Your organisation should come out with flex boards praising the efforts of the Left Government”, said Divakaran in the letter. However, Divakaran told DC that the letter was meant for local politicians belonging to various parties. “It is true that I had come out with such a letter demanding that flex boards be put up at Nedumangad coinciding with the launch of the traffic signal.” “I believe that it was local BJP leaders who have forwarded my letter on social media. But it was only paper flex and not the banned plastic flex”, said Divakaran.
