TIRUPATI: Revenue minister Dharmana Prasada Rao has asserted that the “comprehensive reforms” implemented by the state government in the revenue department have been proven to be people-friendly and successful.

The revenue minister, along with MLA M. Vikram Reddy and district collector Hari Narayanan, distributed land titles (pattas) to farmers who are possessing dotted lands in Atmakur constituency on Thursday.

The minister said the department resolved the long-standing issue of dotted lands, many of which had remained unaddressed for over a century. The YSRC government has granted rightful ownership rights to farmers cultivating these lands for over two decades, he said.

“The government is committed to revitalising the revenue system. In the past four years, this government has launched many programmes and initiatives through the revenue department. These have transformed the lives of many. One of the flagship programmes is conferring land ownership rights to cultivators who possessed the land for many years,” he added.

The minister said around 20,000 acres of dotted lands in Atmakur are being allocated to farmers and an additional 6,000 acres would also be distributed soonFull rights are being granted to the owners of Inam lands, with eligible rights being extended to 2,700 acres in Atmakur as well.

He emphasized that the YSRC government was implementing the schemes in a transparent and unbiased manner without any discrimination based on politics, caste or religion.

The minister recalled that the comprehensive land resurvey project was launched with an investment of Rs 1500 crore, in a bid to permanently settle land disputes and ensure clarity in property rights.

“This impartial and modern survey, conducted with cutting-edge technology, garnered praise as a model for other states to emulate,” Dharmana said.

To prevent instances of double registrations, a significant amendment has been made to the Registration Act, accompanied by the development of a software system that enables immediate mutation following registration. “This streamlined process adds a layer of transparency and efficiency to property transactions, ultimately benefiting both buyers and sellers,” he claimed.
