TTD attempts changes in VIP break darshan hours, room allotment system
TIRUPATI: Two major initiatives for the common devotees were announced by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) here on Sunday.
Executive Officer AV Dharma Reddy said the temple body, on an experimental basis, has been shifting the room allotment system to Tirupati and aims at changing the VIP break darshan timing.
Addressing the monthly ‘Dial-Your-TTD-EO’ programme in Tirumala, the EO said the temple management has made arrangements for shifting the room allotment system from Tirumala to enable devotees first get accommodation and then motor up or trek to the hill town. The devotees who could not get rooms in Tirumala could be accommodated in Tirupati.
For the benefit of the common devotees waiting in the compartments overnight, the temple administration is experimenting with changes in the VIP break darshan timings. The aim is to facilitate early morning darshan for such devotees. The TTD will change the VIP break darshan hours to 10 am onwards, the EO said.
He said the temple body is conducting a five-day Venkateswara Vaibhavotsavam festival at NTR Stadium in Hyderabad from October 11 to 15, to showcase Nitya Kainkaryams, including Vahana Sevas and Utsavams of the Srivari temple, to the devotees of other regions. The programme includes the Vasanthotsavam on October 11, Sahasra Kalasabhishekam on 12, Thiruppavada seva on 13, Abhishekam and Nijapada Darshan on 14 and Srinivasa Kalyanam on 15.
Meanwhile, several devotees who made calls to the Dial Your TTD EO programme lauded the efforts of EO and his team for the successful conduct of the Srivari brahmotsavam and the services for common devotees. The EO acknowledged the coordinated efforts of the officials and staff of all the TTD departments, the district administration, the police and Srivari Sevaks and hailed the devotees’ cooperation for the successful conduction of the annual brahmotsavams.
