CM Jagan to Inaugurate Flagship Mega 5 Lakh Housewarming in Samarlakota
VIJAYAWADA: The five lakh mega mass housewarming programme of the flagship Navaratnalu-Pedalandariki Illu would be launched on Thursday by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The Chief Minister would launch the biggest housing colony in Peddapuram Assembly constituency of Samarlakota in Kakinada district and interact with the beneficiaries.
The mega housewarming programme had been postponed repeatedly due to various reasons. The event will be held simultaneously in all 26 districts.
Housing minister Jogi Ramesh congratulated all the officials and staff on achieving the target of completion of 5 lakh houses. He also appealed to all districts officials to complete the remaining houses at the earliest.
“The housing corporation has achieved the target of completing construction of five lakh houses by August under the flagship programme of the state government, the Navaratnalu Pedalandariki Illu. A large number of houses across the state have been built and are provided to the poor with infrastructure facilities like electricity, drinking water, roads and drainage in the name of Akka Chellellu (sisters).
The mega event would be held in Peddapuram Assembly constituency in the presence of the Chief Minister. Jagan Mohan Reddy would interact with the beneficiaries at the Jagananna colony in Samarlakota Layout. House warming events will be held simultaneously in selected layouts in all the 25 districts, where ministers, public representatives and district officials will attend the event.
Special chief secretary, Housing, has advised officials to visit the Jagananna colonies and take necessary steps for the completion of houses.
The biggest housing colony is in Kakinada district, which has 2,299 houses, followed by 1,149 houses in Dhulipalla of Palnadu district, 781 houses in Vadamalapeta of Tirupati district, and 689 houses in Tanuku of West Godavari district, apart from the houses in other districts. The smallest colony would open with 181 houses in Unguturu of Eluru district.
Lakshmi Sha, managing director, state housing corporation organised review meetings with district officials, asking them to reach the targets and visit the Jagananna colonies personally. Ajay Jain, special CS, Housing, congratulated the officials and staff for this achievement.
