Hyderabad: A flight from Hyderabad to Dubai was cancelled after airport authorities received an email saying that the flight was to be hijacked. However, it was found to be a hoax mail and all passengers were safe.

The person incharge at the airport got the email on Sunday evening. It said that a person on the flight to Dubai was working for the ISI of Pakistan, and was planning to take over the flight. The flight was stopped and the 111 passengers deplaned. Sources said they were accommodated on flights.

A high-ranking officer from Cyberabad police commissionerate said that they had checked the plane and verified the passengers backgrounds and found the email to be a fake.

“We will take action against the mischief-makers,” he said.

Meanwhile, an airport team examined the threat message and concluded that the threat was considered "specific." As a result, they took all the necessary actions and three persons off the flight and handed them over to police. Investigation is underway.
